a brief history
A Brief History of The Shiraki Memorial Foundation
On March 6, 1997, The Shiraki Memorial Foundation was founded in honor of Hilda Shiraki. The Foundation was an expansion of the Shiraki Trust Fund that had been established in 1972 as part of the ministry of Olivet Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hilda Shiraki was born in Hilo, Hawaii on December 3, 1903 and died on September 3, 1995 at the age of 91.
In the past 25 years, besides providing Seminary Scholarships for Hawaii Baptists, The Shiraki Memorial Foundation has supported the Hawaii Baptist Academy, Bible Distribution, Educational Ministries, Conference and Seminary Extension Ministries, Family Ministries, Medical Missions, and Evangelistic Missions.
The support included work in the Hawaiian Islands, Samoa, Vietnam, Cambodia, Taiwan, The Philippines, and elsewhere.
